A Magical Stay at Halo Igloos, Lapland 🇫🇮
March 10, 2026

Before celebrating Lauren’s 30th birthday in Lapland, we spent a few nights somewhere equally special — Halo Igloos in Finnish Lapland.
From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a true Arctic winter experience.
Halo Igloos are designed so you can fully experience the beauty of Lapland while staying warm and comfortable inside.
Each igloo has a large panoramic glass window above the bed, meaning you can lie back and watch the sky above you — and if you’re lucky, the Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic night.
Even without the aurora, just waking up to the snow-covered forests and peaceful Lapland landscape is something that feels incredibly special.
It’s the kind of stay where the views become part of the experience.
One of our favourite parts of staying at Halo Igloos was something completely unexpected.
Right in the centre of the igloo area, there’s an open snowy space where reindeer roam freely.
You can actually walk out, stroll through the snow, and watch them wandering around peacefully. Seeing them so close in such a natural setting made the whole experience feel even more authentic.
It’s those little moments — standing in the quiet Arctic air while reindeer pass by — that make Lapland feel truly magical.
Another highlight of the stay was the restaurant at Halo Igloos.
Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with plenty of options to start the day before heading out to explore Lapland.
In the evening, the restaurant becomes a cosy place to unwind after a day in the snow. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was excellent — exactly what you want after spending time outdoors in the Arctic cold.
Dining here felt like part of the experience rather than just somewhere to eat.
Staying at Halo Igloos was the perfect way to begin our Lapland adventure before celebrating Lauren’s birthday later in the trip.
Between the beautiful glass igloos, the incredible Arctic surroundings, the amazing restaurant, and the reindeer right outside, it created an experience that felt both relaxing and unforgettable.
If you’re planning a trip to Rovaniemi or Lapland, Halo Igloos is definitely somewhere worth considering.
It’s peaceful, unique, and gives you that true Lapland winter magic.
